API 11B Pony Rod

A pony rod is a specific type of sucker rod, but with a key difference : its length is differ from the sucker rod. While sucker rod are long, slender steel bars used in artificial lift systems to transmit reciprocating motion from a surface pump down to a pump located deep within the wellbore. Pony rods, on the other hand, are shorter versions designed for specific purpose.

Why Use Pony Rods ?

Oil wells come in various depths. Whole standard sucker rods can handle many well depths, there are situations where achieving the precise length needed for optimal operation requires a more granural approach. There is where pony rods come in. they offers several advantages :

• Achieving Specific Well Depths : by incorporating pony rods into a sucker rod string, oil producer can fine-tune the overall length to perfectly match the well’s depth. This ensures efficient pump placement and optimal operation.
• Flexibility in Well Operations : pony rods provide greater flexibility during well construction and operation. They allow for adjustments without needing to replace entire strings of standard sucker rods.
• Reduced Cost

In some cases, using a combination of standard sucker rods and strategically placed pony rods can be more cost-effective than deploying a single, extremely long sucker rod strings.

API Spec 11B  Manufacturing Standard

Manufactured according to API Spec 11B using prime API Monogrammed. Rods are manufactured, heat-threated and tested at the same facility according to our stringent quality assurance procedures and exceed the requirements for API Spec 11B certification for applicable grades. Our products are available in a wide range of sizes, weights, lengths, and grades with any combination of the connections.

You can choose to mark monogram or monogramable the product based on your requirements. Custom marking can also be provided on your request or end-customer request

Domestic Components Level (TKDN)

Our Sucker Rod has passed Tingkat Kandungan Dalam Negeri (TKDN) / Domestic Component Level with 19.88%. with that qualification, we assure you that our product will pass every tender or qualification needed about the domestic component level that was needed by the Indonesian Government.
